Privacy
Short version: we keep what we need to show you the roast, and nothing else.
What we store
The website address you submit, the sentence describing your ideal customer, and the screenshots we take of that public page. They live behind the link to your roast so you can come back to it and share it. Anyone with the link can see it.
What we never do
We only open public pages. We never sign in, never submit a form, never pay and never touch anything behind a login. If you own a site and do not want it roasted, tell us and we will block it.
Limits and abuse
Roasts are free, so they are rationed. One cookie (uxslop_vid) counts your roasts for the day. With each roast we keep a scrambled tag of that cookie and of your IP address, and the browser name (like "Chrome on macOS"), so we can spot abuse. The tags cannot be turned back into your address. If you have an account, the roast is linked to it.
How the site is used
We count what people do on uxslop without cookies: which box they type in, how long a page stays open, which findings get opened and what gets copied. Each open tab gets a random number that disappears when you close or reload it, so we cannot recognise you on a later visit, and your IP address is never stored with it. These counts are kept for 90 days.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits. It loads only after you press Accept, and every consent signal is denied until then. You can change your mind any time with Cookie settings in the footer. Creating an account to unlock a full roast is handled by our sign-in provider, which sets the cookies it needs to keep you signed in.
